Noche Buena Feast

Afew days ago, my daughter cooked baked macaroni and made some garlic toasts. After feasting on this yummy treat, she started getting excited about preparing our Noche Buena feast. For non-Filipinos out there, Noche Buena is the Christmas Eve Midnight Feast, a tradition here in the Philippines where the whole family shares a bountiful meal during Christmas Eve, right after going to church for the Misa de Gallo or the Midnight Mass.

Usually, each family has their own long list of traditional Christmas food that appears on the dinner table every Christmas Eve. Now that I have my own family, I have included in my own tradition some food that my mom had always prepared for Christmas such as macaroni salad, Majestic ham and pickles and of course, fruitcake. This year, we are planning to add the following to our traditional menu : Barbecued spareribs, Garlic Butter Prawns, Lengua, Frenchbaker’s Lasagna and Dulcinea’s Cream Puff.

My daughter loves to cook so she is now currently on the lookout for a copycat recipe of Kenny Rogers BBQ Ribs. I, on the other hand, is looking for more food ideas. I hope other mom bloggers could come up with their own Noche Buena Feast menu so I could perhaps steal a dish idea or two?
